Ethan J. McCarthy

Ethan J. McCarthy focuses his practice on transactional law, helping clients navigate the ins and outs of business deals, financing, real estate, and estate planning. He takes a practical and detail-oriented approach, whether he’s drafting contracts, reviewing loan documents, handling property purchases or leases, or putting together estate plans. Ethan works closely with clients to find smart, efficient solutions that help them move forward with confidence.

Prior to joining Council Baradel, Ethan was a Judicial Law Clerk for The Honorable Donna M. Schaeffer of the Circuit Court for Anne Arundel County. He also was a Legal Intern for the Securities and Exchange Commission where he worked in the Division of Trading and Markets conducting legal research, drafting memoranda and analyzing mandatory filings.

Ethan graduated cum laude from the George Mason University Antonin Scalia Law School in 2024. During law school, his article Agents As Underwriters: Incorporating Agency Law to Make Section 11 of the Securities Act Better Applicable to Nontraditional IPOs was published in the Journal of Law, Economics & Policy. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Maryland in 2021, having majored in Finance.
